Chapel Down is England's largest winery, sat on the Kentish greensand just outside Tenterden. Someone who knows these vines properly is going to walk us through them, and then pour us things.

  • A walk through the vineyard How the vines move through their year, and why Kent's maritime climate — all that chalk, all that sea air — turns out to be very good at growing this particular kind of fruit.
  • How the sparkling actually gets made The traditional method, start to finish, in the place where they do it.
  • A tutored tasting of five signature wines Sat down, talked through properly, one glass at a time.
  • Then the herb garden, and the Cellar Door There's a herb garden to wander through afterwards and a bar if we fancy one more before the taxi.
